Jaume Arnau Gras

Jaume Arnau Gras is Emeritus Professor in the Department of Behavioural Sciences Methodology (Faculty of Psychology) at the University of Barcelona, where he has completed six officially approved six-year research terms and eight officially approved five-year teaching terms. He was responsible for setting up the Faculty of Psychology at the University of Barcelona, which was recognized by Royal Decree on 28 September 1983, and he went on to become its first Dean. He is recognized as a pioneer of applied research methods in the health and social sciences, and much of his work has been published by prestigious academic publishers. As a lecturer he has taught courses on research design to undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral students at several Spanish universities. His main line of research activity focuses on the use of Monte Carlo simulation to study advanced analytic techniques in longitudinal designs. He has participated in numerous R+D+I projects, and has been principal investigator on at least 15 occasions. This is in addition to having been the coordinator of 18 teaching innovation projects. He has also coordinated various doctoral programmes and postgraduate courses. He is currently on the staff of the Institute for Brain, Cognition and Behaviour (IR3C). E-mail: jarnau@ub.edu
