University admission procedures for students with foreign qualifications that can be recognized as being equivalent to the Spanish bachillerato LOGSE (High School, Baccalaureate, etc.)

APPLICATION PROCEDURES

Students from European Union or students holding the European Baccalaureate Certificate or the International Baccalaureate Certificate
1. Obtaining authorisation for Spanish university admission

In accordance with the stipulations of the Act of May 7, 2007 (published in the Official State Bulletin n. 112, May 10, 2007), and the Act of March 14, 2008 (published in the Official State Bulletin n. 70, March 21, 2008), students coming to Spain from educational systems in EU member states and in Switzerland who meet the academic admission requirements stipulated by universities in their countries of origin may be admitted to Spanish universities without sitting Spain's official university admission examination, the PAU. Students holding the European Baccalaureate Certificate or the International Baccalaureate Certificate may also be admitted to Spanish universities without sitting the PAU examination.

These students must obtain authorisation for Spanish university admission from the National University of Distance Education (UNED), the organization that verifies that such students' applications meet all the Spanish university admission requirements.

2. Students should complete a pre-enrolment form requesting admission to a faculty, school of advanced studies or university school in Catalonia, at:

2. Spanish university admission
Foreign or Spanish university students who live outside Spain and whose circumstances differ to those of the students described above must sit Spain's official university admission examination, the PAU. To formally enrol to sit this examination at the National University of Distance Education (UNED), students should contact the personnel at http://www.uned.es/.
