Admission for applicants holding qualifications from universities outside Spain

Applicants holding qualifications from universities outside Spain and meeting the UB's general admissions requirements may be admitted in a doctoral program at the UB in either of the following ways:

  • the applicant's degree qualification has been officially granted recognition as equivalent to one of the qualifications required for admission to the doctoral program;

or:

  • the applicant's qualification has not been officially granted recognition as equivalent to one of the qualifications required for admission to the doctoral program, but the UB has received confirmation that the applicant's bachelor's and master's studies reach a level of academic training that would entitle them to doctoral studies in the country which issued their qualification.

Admission to a doctoral program at the UB does not grant official and free-standing recognition of such applicants' previous studies outside Spain; however, once such applicants have successfully completed the UB program, their doctoral qualification will be considered as fully valid.
