Transferring Student Records
Procedure for transferring student records to centres at the University of Barcelona for those students wishing to continue studying the same degree who have successfully completed either subjects carrying have successfully completed subjects carrying a minimum of 60 academic credits in the case of Study Plans designed by credits, or else who have successfully completed the first academic year of their degree in the case of old Study Plans.
Students in this category may apply in either of the following ways:
1. Applying directly to the centre:
Applications should be addressed to the Dean or Director of centre in which the student wishes to continue their studies and should consist of a letter accompanied by a copy of the student’s academic record specifying the examinations the student has sat and the marks that have been awarded.
The deadline for applying for a transfer is July 30.
Admission to the new centre will depend on the following conditions:
- The applicant has successfully completed either subjects carrying a minimum of 60 academic credits in the case of Study Plans designed by credits, or else the first academic year of their degree in the case of old Study Plans.
- The applicant has not used all the examination calls for any subject in the applicants university Study Plan (old Study Plans).
- The applicant has presented the justification for the transfer application.
If the application is accepted, the centre will inform the applicant in writing both of this and of the procedures for adaptation.
Those students whose transfer application has been accepted will exercise their rights to transfer at their centre of origin and may formalise their registration for the academic year in which they have been accepted and at the Secretary’s Office of the UB faculty or university school to which they are transferring. If the student does not transfer according to the conditions specified in the UB’s acceptance of the application, the student’s academic record shall be returned to the student’s centre of origin, and the student shall lose their right to transfer.
2.- Formalising university preinscription in order to apply for a place on a course, through the Oficina d’Orientació per a l’Accés a la Universitat (Orientation Office for University Admissions)
The Orientation Office will inform the student of the deadline for applying for a transfer in its annual call.

Students in this category must formalise the official preinsciption annually called in June by the Department of Education at the Catalan Government’s Generalitat de Catalunya through the Oficina d’Orientació per a l’Accés a la Universitat
