Application form for admission to the UB

Once you have been selected or authorized by your home university to study temporarily at the UB, you should complete the corresponding application form and send it by internet to the UB. You should also make a sufficient number of copies of your application to complete the subsequent procedures.
From the 1st April on, the application form applying to study temporarily at the UB the following academic year can be registered by Internet. For example, for a study period during the academic year 2008-09, you can complete the application from 1st April 2008 on.

Preliminary comments

  • Completion of this form does not mean you are automatically accepted as a temporary visiting student at the UB. You must also complete the admission procedure corresponding to your particular exchange programme
  • Please use CAPITAL LETTERS to fill in the application form
  • Changes in personal data : If you see a mistake after saving your data, and you want to enter changes and reprint your application form, contact by e-mail the Head of the International Exchange Office at the centre for which you have made the request. They will reply you as soon as possible, informing you that your application form is modified or cancelled, as you have requested. If the application is cancelled they will inform you that you can re-record your data
  • If you need to print a new copy of your application form, once you have saved and confirmed your data, you can do it by going to the first screen and entering the application code

Documents and application deadlines
A. Students on EXCHANGE PROGRAMMES
(Socrates-Erasmus and Bilateral Agreements)

Documents
The following documents should be posted to the Head of International Exchange at the faculty or school in which you intend to study:

  • Two copies of your application for admission and learning agreement signed by your tutor at your home university. (You should keep the other copy)
  • A certificate signed by your home University attesting to your participation on the programme or agreement
  • 2 passport-size photographs.

Recommended deadlines:
You should send the above documents to your chosen faculty or school no later than:

  • June 15th (for students planning to study in either semester of the 2008-09 academic year)
  • November  15th (for students planning to study in the 2nd semester of the 2008-09 academic year who have not already sent in their applications)

The Head of International Exchanges at your future place of study at the UB will send you a document indicating whether or not you have been accepted.

B. Students on PROGRAMMES: COIMBRA GROUP, PROGRAMM EMSPS and SPECIFIC AGREEMENTS WITH US COLLEGES

You should ask your home University, or the Head of International Exchanges at the UB faculty or school in which you wish to study, which documents you need to send and the deadlines for doing so.

  • Note: Students on the Specific Agreements with US colleges: Brethren Colleges Abroad, California-Illinois, Knox College, Dartmouth, Barcelona Center for International Students (BCIS) or Council on International Education Exchanges (CIEE), Consortium for avanced studiesin Barcelona (CASB), University of Pennsylvania:  having been admited to study temporarily at the UB, in accordance with the conditions of the exchange programme, only need to complete application form and to send it us by internet. Remember to keep a copy for yourself.
C. Students making INDIVIDUAL APPLICATION

Applicants must :

  • be studying an undergraduate degree course at a foreign university or higher education institution when making the application. Students who have finished their undergraduate degree course are not elegible to apply
  • be studying courses similar to those chosen for study at the UB
  • have sufficient knowledge of Catalan and/or Spanish to be able to follow classes at the UB

Students making individual applications must pay the academic registration fee. If you have institutional support for these fees, either in part or in full, you must inform the Head of International Exchanges at the UB faculty in which you intend to study and present the corresponding documents.

Documents:
The following documents should be posted to the Head of International Exchange at the faculty or school in which you intend to study:

  • Two copies of your application for admission signed by your tutor at your home university. (You should keep the other copy)
  • A letter of presentation signed by an academic responsible at your home University
  • A list of the subjects studied at university and the grades awarded (original document and a translation in Catalan, Spanish, English or French. Note: the document does not have to be translated by a sworn translator)
  • The curriculum of the degree being studied at your home university (original document and translation)
  • Documentation related to the suitable knowledge of the Catalan or Castilian
  • 2 passport-size photographs
  • Fine Arts: If the application is for the Fine Arts Faculty, also a portfolio, in format DIN A4, with visual information of the plastic work carried out by the applicant must be sent
