In the conference entitled "Don Juan detrás del telón de acero", Mihály Dés will speak about the latest parodic transmutation of the character of the unrepentant ladies' man into a repentant and neurotic one, as brought to life in his novel Barroco de Budapest, set in the legendary year 1984. The Hungarian author Mihály Dés lived in Barcelona where he worked as a journalist, literary critic and teacher. He was editor in chief of the journal Quimera and he founded the journal Lateral. Barroco de Budapest (2013) is his first novel, and in it he expresses his own vision of narrative forms that are in use as well as those that have fallen out of use.
