Julia Lewandowska (Uniwersytet Warszawski) will offer the lecture "La celda propia: prácticas literarias de las monjas en la temprana Modernidad". It will focus on Spanish convent writers, and not only on the most recognized, as they offer many indicators of their claims to authorship, great porosity in relation to their sociocultural environment, and a fruitful appropriation of religious rhetoric from femininity. Lewandowska is a specialist in Spanish women's convent literature from the 16th to the 18th centuries, a subject on which she wrote her doctoral thesis and her numerous international publications.

This activity is co-organized by ADHUC, GEHMO and the research project HAR2014-52850-C3-3-P. Assistance open to the interested public.
