Where are the girls in Ancient Greece? And how are girls portrayed within contemporary popular culture? Have they always been metaphors of innocence and vulnerability? How are we to read violence against girls? Why do we say "girls" when we mean "teenage girls"?  The course "La representació de les nenes a la literatura" aims at analysing texts and images  from both the Antiquity and contemporary popular culture in order to reflect, using several topics as a cue, on the way in which girls have been portrayed in these images and texts. Maria Dolors Molas Font (Tàcita Muta - Grup d'Estudis de Dones i Gènere a l'Antiguitat) and Helena Gonzàlez Fernández (Centre Dona i Literatura) will give two lectures in which they will offer an analysis of these issues, from different perspectives, times and fields. Attendance is free. A certificate of assistance will be issued to those people who ask for it: b.prat.am@diba.cat.
