Fine Birulés Bertran receives the Creu de Sant Jordi 2017

Award

Professor Fina Birulés Bertran, researcher at the Centre de recerca ADHUC - Teoria, Gènere, Sexualitat and founder of the Seminari Filosofia i Gènere at the Universitat de Barcelona, has been awarded the Creu de Sant Jordi by Generalitat de Catalunya, for her intense translation work, study and dissemination of philosophical production centered around the political subjectivity, history and action, questions of theory, and particularly the work of Hannah Arendt and other philosophers of the twentieth century.


Fina Birulés is Professor of Contemporary Philosophy and Philosophy of History at the Universitat de Barcelona and has been a visiting professor at universities around the world such as Puerto Rico, Chile, Parma, Florence or Vienna. She is a member of various committees in journals such as Lectora: revista de dones i textualitat, Società degli Individui o Crítica Contemporánea. Revista de Teoría Política. She has translated works of contemporary philosophers, has edited collective volumes about Hannah Arendt and other contemporary philosophers, and is the author of numerous essays.
