The Grup d’Estudis de Dones i Gènere a l’Antiguitat (Tàcita Muta) organizes the international seminar The mirror of old age through history: meanings and transmission, which will take place on September 29 and 30, 2017. Various researchers will discuss the different meanings of the concept of old age in history, focusing especially in the conceptualization and experience of feminine old age. In these conferences, the researchers will talk about the visions of old age in Mesopotamia, ancient Egypt, ancient Greece and the European Middle Ages. They will alsoanalyze how this concept has been considered in modernity and how it has intersected with other experiences such as that of working in textile factories. The conferences of September 29 will take place at the Sala de Juntes of the Faculty of Geography, History and Philosophy, and the ones of September 30 will take place at the meeting room of the library in the same Faculty.
