1.
Establish and maintain technical and scientific contact among Catalan research groups working on components and methodologies useful for the study agroecosystem functioning and to assure competitive and high quality ecological production.
2. Promote collaboration among Catalan research groups working on related and complementary topics to favour, in the future, participation in joint R & D projects supported by Spanish and European governments.
3. Facilitate the exchange of students and researchers among Network research groups to favour development in complementary research areas.
4. Create a mailing list of researchers, stakeholders, managers, advisors and persons in charge of public and private organizations working on, or developing, organic farming techniques, whether in education, research, experimentation, demonstration or dissemination.
5. Evaluate research on organic farming in Catalonia, placing it within the Spanish and European context, and conceive new lines of investigation (R & D) on organic production. To propose recommendations for future scientific policy in organic farming.
6. Evaluate the state of organic farming education on offer in Catalan public and private centres and the possibility of offering new educational opportunities.
7. Disseminate information to relevant sectors that are outside the academic sphere and, consequently, do not have periodic access to specialised scientific journals. This would include mainly stakeholders, managers, advisors, persons in charge of European and Spanish scientific policy and various institutions involved in the ecological management of agroecosystems.
8. To create a forum for scientific discussion of Organic Faming.
