World distribution

The distribution of the Bonelli´s Eagle includes Europe, Africa and Asia, where the following subspecies may be found:


Hieraaetus fasciatus fasciatus : Southern Europe, North of Africa, Near East, Arabian Peninsula, Afghanistan, Pakistan, India, Southern China and Northern Indochina.

-     Hieraaetus fasciatus renschi : The Sunda Islands.

The eagle-goshawks (Hieraaetus spilogaster), present in Africa, at the South of Sahara, was considered until a few years ago another subspecies of the Bonelli´s Eagle (Hieraaetus fasciatus spilogaster).
