ENROLMENT PROCEDURE

There are three different stages in the procedure that students must complete to pre-enrol and enrol in the university master’s degree in Analytic Philosophy.

(1) At the first stage, students should fill in the online form at:
http://www.giga.ub.edu/acad/pops/acces/identificacio2.php?idensy=M2503&c...

Once they have done this, they should e-mail the documents required in the form to the address given there, and then wait for the master coordination committee to reply, either with a letter accepting them on the course or informing them that their application has not been successful.

(2) At the second stage, and where possible well before the final date for enrolment, the student must go in person to the Secretary’s Office on the first floor of the Faculty of Philosophy to submit the originals and attested copies of the papers he or she has been asked for (the Secretary’s Office is open mornings, Monday to Friday, from 10:00am to 2:00pm and afternoons, Monday and Thursday, from 2:00pm to 4:00pm). The papers required will depend on the kind of degree qualification which he or she already has and which is entitling the student to begin the master’s degree:

(a) For everyone:
- a copy of the ID (ID-card, passport or whatever)
- two pictures

(b) For the students whose degree was issued by the UB:
- the transcript ('expedient acadèmic')

(c) For the students whose degree was issued by a Spanish University:
- the original degree certificate (and a copy)
- or: a document, issued by the University in question, which certifies that the rights of issue for that certificate have been paid (and a copy)

(d) For the students whose degree was issued by a foreign University and homologated by the Spanish Ministry of Education:
 - the original certificate of homologation issued by the Ministry of Education (and a copy)

(e) For the students whose degree was issued by a foreign University within the framework of the European higher Education Area:
- the original degree certificate (and a copy), if the certificate is in English, Spanish or Catalan or a certified translation of the original degree certificate (if you need to translate your degree certificate, please get in touch with aphil.master@gmail.com)
- an official document from the university certifying that the successful completion of this degree course qualifies the student to begin a degree course at master level in the country in which the degree certificate was issued. This document must be presented in English, Spanish or Catalan.
- when you present your documents, you will be required to pay the 'equivalence' fees (around 200 euros); these fees can be paid for either at the faculty office (by credit or debit card), or through the savings bank La Caixa. Once you have paid these fees, you will have to submit the payment receipt.

(f) For the students whose degree was issued by a foreign University outside the framework of the European higher Education Area:
- the original degree certificate (and a copy), if the certificate is in English, Spanish or Catalan or a certified translation of the original degree certificate (if you need to translate your degree certificate, please get in touch with aphil.master@gmail.com)
- the authorisation to enrol  in the master, issued by the rector of the UB (more information about that below).
- when you present your documents, you will be required to pay the 'equivalence' fees (around 200 euros); these fees can be paid for either at the secretary's office (by banker's card), or through the savings bank La Caixa.Once you've paid these fees, you'll have to submit the payment receipt.

If you cannot come to Barcelone to submit these documents, you can send certified copies to the following address:

Facultat de Filosofia
Secretaría d'Estudiants i Docència
C/Montalegre, 6
08001 Barcelona
(Spain)
Please remember that copies must be certified by a Spanish embassy. Note that certified copies are needed only if you cannot come to the Faculty's office in person, to submit the original documents.

If you send your documents instead of submitting them in person, the administrative staff of the UB should enable you to pay the equivalence fees by Internet.

As a general comment, you should know that the documents you sumbit must be legalized:

- If your documents were issued within the European Higher Education Area (+ in Switzerland, Norwey, Liechstenstein, Island), they are automatically considered legalized by the UB.
- If your documents were issued in a country member of the Hague's apostille convention (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Apostille_convention), you'll have to get them suitably sealed.
- If you aren't in either of the two former situations, please get in touch with aphil.master@gmail.com.

(3) At the third stage, once you have submitted all these documents, you will be able to access the on-line registration form, either with your passport number or with your birth date or with an ID number provided by the administrative staff of the UB. The on-line registration form is available at the following address:

TBA

Once you have completed enrolment and paid the corresponding fees in the period designated for this, you will receive a UB ID card and be granted access to the University's Virtual Campus and the UB's general student services.
