The Applied Kinetics and Catalysis research group has published a large number of papers in international specialized journals. Most of the work is focused in the use of ion exchange resins as heterogeneous catalysts in chemical reactions. Initially, the reactions of main interest were the production of fuel additives, mainly oxygenates, from raw materials to improve the fuel properties. Nowadays, the interest has shifted to the heterogeneous catalysis for biomass conversion into energy and value-added products.
