Teaching Innovation Group ENGREAQUIM
(ENGinyeria de la REAcció QUIMica — Chemical Reaction Engineering)

The members of the Applied Kinetics and Catalysis research group take part in the teaching of the Chemical Engineering degree of the Universitat de Barcelona, as well as in other degrees with content in Chemistry and Chemical Engineering. Given that most of the courses they teach are related to the kinetics and catalysis of chemical reactions, the content of the subjects is kept updated and oriented towards practical application, without losing sight of the rigor and depth of the physicochemical and mathematical foundations.

With the conviction of the need for continuous improvement, also in teaching, the members of the research group created the ENGREAQUIM teaching group. One of the objectives is to prepare materials in the form of both textbooks and support resources (books, problem sets, applications and/or audiovisual materials) for use by students in order to contribute to improving learning performance. The contents and materials of the subjects, both the most basic and the most specialized, are periodically reviewed. Regarding teaching methods, the aim is to adapt teaching methodologies and strategies to encourage active student participation in learning, since learning by doing is the most efficient way to learn.
