Dr. Rosina Moreno awarded the ICREA Academia Award 2014

    The scientific career of Dr. Rosina Moreno has been distinguished by the ICREA Academia Award 2014 in the framework of an edition that has recognized the scientific work of thirty experts from around Catalonia.

    With this award, two are the members of the research group AQR awarded in the ICREA Academy Award - an initiative to encourage research excellence of teaching and researchers Catalonia's public universities staff. Professor Josep Lluís Carrion-i-Silvestre was awarded in the 2009 edition.

    Rosina Moreno is Professor of Applied Economics at the University of Barcelona. She was a visiting professor at the Regional Research Institute at West Virginia University (year 1997-1998) and Bruton Center for Development Studies at the University of Texas at Dallas (Fall Semester 1998), as well as at the research center CRENOS in Sardinia during the summer of 2002. Her teaching areas are Econometrics and Spatial Econometrics and her current research interests focus on the study of the main determinants of economic growth at the regional level, with special emphasis on the effect of knowledge (human and technological capital), innovation and its dissemination. The results of her research have been published in national and international journals, most indexed, as well as books and book chapters in prestigious publishers. She has also participated in several projects funded by the R&D National Plan continuously since 1999 and in three European projects (two Framework Programmes and ESPON), in all three cases being the leader of a work package.
