The University of Barcelona’s Regional Quantitative Analysis Group (AQR-IREA) is located in the University’s Department of Econometrics, Statistics and Applied Economics. Its staff, who number some forty professionals from Spain and other countries, conduct research in the field of applied economics and focus on urban and regional issues.

The group itself has been officially recognized by the Government of Catalonia for the excellence of its work over the last twenty years and for its specific achievements, which include the presentation of research in international conferences, publication in journals, books and monographs on specific subject areas, its participation in international, national and regional competitive research projects, its commitment to the training of Spanish and visiting doctoral students, and the organization of numerous workshops, seminars and conferences.
