Objective

Quantify the economic impact generated by 12 Latin American universities from 7 different countries on the economy of their country. The proposed analysis is:

(a) Make an individual analysis of each university

(b) Make a comparative analysis of the set of universities

Methodology

DEMAND APPROACH:

1st. Phase. Identify which are the impact generating agents

2nd. Phase. Determine the direct economic effect

3rd. Phase. Identify the impulse on aggregate demand that results from the demand for goods and services made by agents in order to carry out their activity.

4th. Phase. Calculate the intersectoral effects that make up the indirect impact. Use of the Input-Output methodology

5th. Phase. Determine the induced effect.

6th. Phase. Calculate the total effect as the sum of the direct, indirect and induced effects.

7a. Phase. Estimate the impact on tax collection.

8a. Phase. Drafting of the Report and Presentation of results

SUPPLY APPROACH: quantify the impact of universities on the supply side, that is, their impact in the medium and long term, as a result of the impact associated with the improvement of the productive factors of an economy.
