Objective Getting robust facts about the internationalization level of Catalan companies such as their propensity for innovation and the relationship between this propensity and the level of internationalization. Assessing the effect of internationalization and innovation of Catalan companies on their productivity and comparing it with other economies around us. Analyzing the differences in internationalization and innovation, and its relationship with productivity both between large companies and SMEs in Catalonia and between Catalan companies and companies located in other regions. Assessing the changes that the economic crisis may have caused in the observed patterns. Developing a set of specific measures, based on robust facts obtained, that help to design internationalization policies (and if its possible innovation in Catalan companies), particularly in SMEs.
Methodology Empirical analysis of a representative sample of Catalan companies, through the most appropriate statistical econometric tools and techniques to obtain robust and representative facts for the studied subject matter.
