The Cambra de Comerç de Barcelona and the Laboratory of Applied Economics (AQR-Lab) of the University of Barcelona present the report on the situation for the first quarter of 2021.
The report shows a downward forecast of 2021 GDP growth from 6.7% to 6.1% due to a worse performance of the economy in Q1. The intense recovery phase is not expected to arrive until the third quarter with the start of the tourist season. At the end of 2021, the Catalan GDP will still be 6% lower than that of 2019 and will not recover the pre-crisis level until 2022.
