Yairon Cid Ruiz

On 26/06/2019, I defended my PhD thesis at the Departament de Matemàtiques i Informàtica of the Universitat de Barcelona. I am part of the ARCADES network. My advisor was Carlos D'Andrea.

In September 2019, I will start as a postdoctoral researcher at the Max Planck Institute for Mathematics in the Sciences in the group led by Bernd Sturmfels.

My main research interest is commutative algebra and its interactions with algebraic geometry and combinatorics. I like topics related to blow-up algebras, local cohomology, syzygies, regularity and edge ideals. I am particularly interested in the relations between blow-up algebras and certain criteria for the birationality of rational maps.
