Research Lines

Ecology and distribution of marine and deltaic birds in Catalonia
Studies on faunistics and ecology of marine and deltaic birds developed in the Llobregat and Ebre deltas (including open waters).

Applied ornitology
Includes three areas: a) impact studies of marine wind farms, b) monitoring of urban birds and c) birdstrikes.

Zoogeography of vertebrates and flatworms
Historical and ecological zoogeography of vertebrates with a particular focus on birds and freshwater flatworms. As an example, the coordination of the vertebrate section of the Banc de dades de biodiversitat de Catalunya.

History of Catalan ornitology
Various aspects and characters in the history of ornitology in Catalunya.

Research Projects

- Grup de Recerca Consolidat "Grup de Biologia de Vertebrats" (Generalitat de Catalunya (2005 SGR 00602))

- Evolutionary relationships, diversification patterns ans historical biogeography of the amphibians of Madagascar (CGL 2009-10198)

- Treatment of information on the biodiversity and natural heritage of Catalunya, with the aim of managing its protection. Subproject Vertebrates, improvement of the project "Atles de Biodiversitat de Catalunya" (Departament de Medi Ambient, GENCAT; 302226 Fundació Bosch i Gimpera)

- Monitoring of birds in the city of Barcelona (304792 Fundació Bosch i Gimpera)

- Studies on the prevention of birdstrikes in the Barcelona airport (Plan Barcelona)

- Birds in the "La història natural de Menorca" by prevere Josep Sancho, from early XIXth century (Consell Menorquí d'Estudis)
