The past 16st of November, during the science week, our group organized an outreach activity entitled “El descobriment de nous medicaments” (“Drug Discovery”) to 14 to 16-years-old youngsters in Claret school in Valls. The activity consisted on the explanation of the research needed for discovering a drug and on giving an overview of our work and scientific life. On the other hand, several experiments were performed, such as extracting DNA from strawberries, precipitating proteins from an egg, or even doing capsules using sugar and black pepper, simulating the excipients and the drug from a medicine.
