Álvaro Serrano
PhD Student

I am a first year student enrolled in the Biomedicine PhD program.

I graduated in Biology at the Autonomous University of Barcelona and completed a Master and completed the Master in Bioinformatics for Health Science at the University of Pompeu Fabra in Barcelona.

My master's thesis was carried on Barril's lab and consisted on the prediction of activity cliffs through structural stability data. I have also had experience with virtual screening methods, molecular dynamics and applied data science.

On the PhD project I am developing a hit-to-lead protocol using mixed organic solvent molecular simulations (MDMix) to predict relative binding free energies in specific compound series.
