Dr. Morena Pappalardo joined the Barril Lab as Juan De La Cierva Post-doc in November 2017.
She graduated from the University of Catania with a MSc in Pharmaceutical Chemistry and
Technology, in 2012. Following that, she moved to the University of Kent (UK), where she
conducted her PhD, from 2013 to 2016, under the supervision of Dr. Mark Wass. During her PhD
she investigated the Ebolavirus Pathogenicity and the effects of human non-synonymous variants
through a modeling approach. Her main research interests are in Structural Bioinformatics of
proteins and their Molecular Biology. She is also interested in the structure-based druggability
assessment.
