Teaching - BrainLab

At the laboratory we usually offer 6 Psychology Practicum (Practicum Introduction to Cognitive Neuroscience Research) for students who are in the last years of their studies. In general, the activity involves a commitment of two semesters during the academic year. First part envolves the training in recording techniques and analysis of brain electrical activity and the participation in a conducting experiment in Neuroscience cognitive. Second part is focused on teaching, where the student practicum will lead his/her own Psychophysiology project. Find out updated information on the website of Psychology Practicum.

Also, we supervise two additional practicum students with clinical orientation, in which the student has the opportunity to become familiar with the clinical applications of cognitive evoked potentials. These are made in:

Practical work

Practical work is a 6-credit course for students of psychology that can be taken as elective courses when they are in their advanced studies. Laboratory offer two places each academic year entitled Introduction to Cognitive Neuroscience Research, which takes place during the second semester.

Students enrolled participate and collaborate in all phases involved in the development of research in cognitive neuroscience, since documentation and bibliographical analysis, through the recording and analysis of evoked potentials, to the writing of the work scientists at a level appropriate to their stage of training.

Own work

The compulsory subject, Psychophysiology, has one individual work recording brain electrical activity. This work is done in teams of 4-6 students (depending on organizational details of the academic year) at the laboratories of the Faculty, under the guidance of a trained instructor (Practicum student lab). Intership training

One of the latest educational activities that have been developed in the Laboratory is to host the students in vocational training practices. This teaching is based on a cooperative agreement between the University of Barcelona and secondary schools that allow the incorporation of a student in Level Training (Telecommunications, Image and Sound Audiology) our group . Thus, the student has contact with the FP and the reality of work in the specific field of research, and can put into practice the theoretical knowledge acquired during their training at the school.
