We are pleased to announce a fully-funded 3-year PhD position in Developmental Cognitive Neuroscience and Music at the Brainlab – Cognitive Neuroscience Research Group at the Universitat de Barcelona (UB), starting in January 2026.
We are seeking a enthusiastic candidate with a strong motivation for research and openness to international training opportunities. The candidate will join a longitudinal research project investigating the impact of prenatal and perinatal musical stimulation on brain correlates (EEG) of early language acquisition and cognitive neurodevelopment during the first year of life. This project is carried out in collaboration with the Sant Joan de Déu Barcelona Children’s Hospital and offers access to a rich dataset and cutting-edge methods in cognitive and developmental neuroscience.
Candidate Profile:
- Citizenship or eligibility to work in the EU.
- Master’s degree in Neuroscience, Psychology, Biomedical Engineering, or related fields.
- Experience with EEG and/or neuropsychological assessment and motivation for teamwork.
- Strong statistical and programming skills in Matlab, EEGlab, Python or R.
- Previous experience in clinical or hospital-based research environments and/or knowledge in audiology or hearing sciences will be highly valued.
- Proficiency in English and Spanish (or willingness to learn it, as essential for interaction with families and clinical teams).
