Congratulations to our members William Zamora and Antonio Viayna on the recent acceptance of their article titled "From Canonical to Unique: Extension of a Lipophilicity Scale of Amino Acids to Non-Standard Residues" in the Exploration of Drug Science (EDS). This article also involved collaboration with Paulina Matamoros and David Blázquez-Ruano from the University of Costa Rica and CICbioGUNE center, respectively.
This paper represents an extension of the hydrophobicity scale published by William Zamora and collaborators in 2019, to non-standard amino acids, a group of amino acids that go beyond the 20 usual ones and with great relevance in aspects such as peptidomimetics, antimicrobial peptides, and/or posttranslational modifications of amino acids.
