She is associate professor and researcher in the field of computational gastronomy in the Department of Nutrition, Food Sciences and Gastronomy at the University of Barcelona (UB). She holds a Ph.D. in Cognitive Science and Language (2013, UB); specifically, her thesis focused on paraphrasing in the field of computational linguistics. During her Ph.D., she spent six months at the Center for Language Technology at Macquarie University in Sydney (2011). In 2013, she joined the UB-Bullipedia Unit (a collaboration between the UB and Chef Ferran Adrià’s elBulliFoundation) as a project coordinator at the UB Food and Nutrition Campus. After discontinuation of the unit, in 2016 she started working as coordinator of the computational gastronomy research line and is now leading collaboration projects with Chef Ferran Adrià (elBulliFoundation), Chef Joan Roca (El Celler de Can Roca), Telefónica I+D Digital Food Lab and TERMCAT, the Center for terminology of the Catalan language. She is first author in 5 indexed scientific journal publications and in several publications in non-indexed journals. She was awarded the Ph.D. (2016), the M.A. (2012) and the B.A. (2007) Special Distinction Awards from the University of Barcelona, and the José Manuel Blecua Award to the best article published in a recognized journal in the field of Humanities and Social Sciences from the Social Council of the University Barcelona (2014).
