The PhD program in Cognitive Science and Language was one of the programs which constituted the International Graduate School of Catalonia (IGSOC), and had 2 IGSOC Fellowships 03-04. Past course these grant positions were renewed by the Government of Catalonia with the name <IQUC grants>, but nowadays this kind of grants just are renewed (and only is possible to become an IQUC grant holder as a substitute). However, the DEBEQ call is the natural continuation of the IGSOC-IQUC calls (see http://agaur.gencat.net).

The program has also received the "Mención de Calidad" (Quality Distinction MCD2006-00543) from the Spanish Ministry for Education (MEC). Students accepted to the program from other universities can also receive support in their applications from the MEC mobility grants, current call.

Students of any nationality may apply to the Spanish Ministry of Education for a graduate grant. In addition, European students may join the opportunity to apply to graduate grants offered by the Spanish Ministry of Science and Technology and the Catalan Goverment's DURSI.
