David Rodriguez holds a Bachelor in Humanities and a Master in Cultural Management from the Open University of Catalonia, (2017, 2019). As a PhD candidate in CECUPS – Center for the Study of Culture, Politics and Society – he is currently conducting research on cultural diplomacy within the perspective of multilateralism and global governance, under the guidance of Prof. Arturo Rodríguez Morató and Dr. Mariano Zamorano. His academic career thus far has focused on research work in the fields of culture, art, education, and more recently cultural diplomacy and international relations, and as a result, has participated in round tables and conferences at the University of Girona on Physical Education and culture. Further studies have focused on global governance from the Graduate Institute of International and Development Studies, and on international relations and cultural diplomacy from the Institute for Cultural Diplomacy and from the Geneva School of Diplomacy. In 2019, David presented his paper “Cultural diplomacy as a social innovation trigger in arts festivals” at the ATLAS Annual Conference as well as the 16th IdentiCat seminar. His continued executive education in management, business, and leadership was with Prof. Alison Meister at the International Institute for Management Development (IMD). Currently, and in parallel with his doctoral research, he is a project coordinator at the Swiss Cancer League (Krebsliga Schweiz) and the director of the Girona en Moviment international dance festival.
