Summary:

Responsibility for education is a commitment for the improvement of the education system, and it has to be practiced in different fields which are included in teaching practice.

The inspector's practice, which is focalised on supervising or evaluating of the processes and results, is a good activity example which can be practiced with all those interested. The reflected evaluation with the teaching staff, school's consultant or executive committees can be a good beginning to dinamize the methodological improvement on the teaching practice.

The workshop will include practice and reflection activities in order to share assesstment materials which can be put into practice on:

•  Activities and didactic units planning.

•  Strengthening evidences of the teaching and learning processes within classrooms.

•  Identification of the action environments of the education context.

• Work guide and complementary materials will be provided.

Workshop aims:

1- To share assessment and self-assessment materials (guides for analysis) which can be put in practice with activities and didactic units planning, teaching and learning processes within classrooms, identification of the education context.

2- To reflect about different improvement models of teaching teams: debating group, work in couples, individual work.

3- To provide assessment activities to schools, management committees, teaching consultants, education inspectors…

Contents:

1- Presentation: Educational context, decentralisation of the monitoring and assessment functions, future challenges, theoretical basis for the development in mid and long term.

2- Workshop: application of three analytical guides (about didactic planning, classroom session, educational context)

3- Work in group, debate and transversal contribution between assistants.

Methodology:

Contents presentation, application and analysis of guidelines, work in group and exhibition and reflection contributions.

Brief curriculum of the former:

The Grup 6.Sis is composed by six educational inspectors of Catalonia who have experience this field, programme assessment management in schools, and innovative activities management in national and international improvement education plans: Language Plan, Intercultural Society and Social Cohesion, Third Languages Promotion Plan, Continuous Training Programme of the European Union, Quality and Improvement Plan...

Since 2008-2009 course, different education activities have been taking place in the working group of ICE-UB. They prepare references and application materials for schools, and work together on the presentation of guiding activities for teachers, consultants and executives committees who are interested in the practice, reflection and action for the teaching improvement in Catalonia .
