Acquiring and mastering basic techniques to produce night photographies and astronomical landscapes by:
1. Understanding the special features of night photography
2. Learning about different technical issues involved in night photography:
(i) Focusing without an automated focus system, (ii) Correctly exposing without the aid af an exposimeter (iii) Composing without being able to see through the camera and (iv) Taking circumpolar photographs.
Learning about the material that might be of use in night photography: (i) Equatorial mount andy (ii) Laser.
Useful sources of information: (i) Maps of light pollution, (ii) App to control moon timings and (iii) App to locate the Milky Way and its center.
5. Editing and developping night photographs.
The course will be structured in 6 sessions:
Session 1: Particular features of night photography using natural light (classroom session at the CRBA - 3 hours)
Session 2: Taking photographs under the full moon light (Fieldwork in Tossa de Mar and Cala Canyet in Santa Cristina d'Aro - 5 hours)
Session 3:Taking photographs of the Milky Way (Theory and fieldwork in Planes de Son - 7 hours)
Session 4: Circumpolar photography (Theory and fieldwork in Planes de Son - 7 hours)
Session 5: Image development and processing (Theory and practical work in the classroom in Planes de Son - 5 hours)
Session 6: Assessment (classroom session at the CRBA - 3 hours)
