Background

Since 1989, with the start of the first Masters program specialized in Cultural Management of Spain, the University of Barcelona is one of the foremost leaders in training cultural managers internationally. From the demand of numerous professionals and institutions from Latin America, the first edition of this course with a single Ibero-American specialization was established in 1995. From that moment onward, the program has greatly benefited from the participation of experts from the most prestigious national and international institutions. All this experience has allowed the pedagogical team to internationalize the program in 2004.

The setting of the course in Barcelona, one of the most attractive European Mediterranean cities, will allow the participants to be exposed to and gain first-hand knowledge of some of the most original initiatives in the field of cultural management. In addition, the students can take advantage of the art, culture and creativity of the Catalan capital.

The programme is recognised by UNESCO, and receive a grant from the Ministry of Culture of Spain.
