Postgraduate Programme in Cultural Management and Policies

(Master in Cultural Institutions and Companies Management, 1rst year semi face-to-face)



This programme addresses professionals in charge of projects or Cultural Institutions interested in the reflection of cultural policies and new challenges within the modern Cultural Management. In order to combine formation periods with career activity and to promote participation by professionals elsewhere, the programme is developed in Spanish through two intensive weeks, one short journeys to visit cultural institutions and companies abroad, a three days methodology intensive course, and online readings, exercises and bibliography.

The program is structured into four blocks, which are progressively developed during the whole year:

- Conceptual Grounding (Theoretical Basis of the Cultural Management; Cultural Policies; Economic basis)
- Estrategic Management (Legal and Administrative Grounding)
- Applicated Management (HR, marketing, finance, organisations and projects analisis)
- Research or Internship in the Cultural Management Field.

During the course, there is one study journey abroad. International models of cultural action and policy are analysed through visits, conferences and collective discussions. The course is taught in SPANISH, although students are required to understand other languages (in order to follow the visits of the trip in one European city). A basic element of this programme consists of the drawing up of a cultural management related project. This project, carried out during the course, includes the assistance of a tutor.

CALENDAR:

Face-to-face classes will take place at the IL3 Building, Barcelona University, C/ Ciutat de Granada, 131, 08018 Barcelona. In case of change in their time schedule, the Progamme Secretary would inform the students as soon as possible.
