Petia Radeva

I am an Associate Professor at the Universitat de Barcelona. I teach introductory courses on Data structures and Computer Vision to undergraduate and graduate CS students. My long term research objective is to promote the design and development of novel Computer Vision algorithms as well as their application to our daily life, specially health.

Jordi Vitrià

I am Professor at the Universitat de Barcelona. I teach introductory courses on algorithms and data mining to undergraduate CS students. My long term research objective is to understand the fundamental processes underlying the visual perception of the real world to derive new computer vision algorithms that, one day, may enable machines to see.

Laura Igual

I am Associate Professor Interim at the Universitat de Barcelona. I teach introductory courses on programming and computer vision to undergraduate and graduate students. My long term research objective is to develop new computer vision and machine learning algorithms for medical image analysis, with focus on neuroimaging, for studying the structural and functional organisation of the brain.

Simone Balocco

I am Profesor Agregat Interi at the University of Barcelona, and researcher of the Computer Vision Center, Bellaterra. My research interests are computer vision algorithms applied to medical images, and vascular bio-mechanics. My long term research objective is to develop computer vision models for medical image analysis, with focus on cardiovascular diseases.

Santi Seguí

I am Lecturer at the Department of Applied Maths and Analysis from the University of Barcelona. I received the Ph.D. degree from the Universitat de Barcelona in 2011. I teach introductory courses on mobile programing and machine learning and data mining to undergraduate CS students. My research interest are Machine Learning and Computer Vision trying to understand the visual human perception.

Mariella Dimiccoli

I am a Beatriu de Pinós fellow (Marie-Curie COFUND action) at Computer Vision Center and Teaching Professor at University of Barcelona. I am interested in artificial intelligence and I am intrigued by human vision and human behavior. My ultimate research goal is to derive models of human behavior and human vision that, in the long run, could be used to improve our quality of life.

Maedeh Aghaei

I am a PhD candidate at University of Barcelona under the supervision of Dr. Petia Radeva and Dr. Mariella Dimiccoli. My educational background includes fields of Artificial Intelligence, Computer Vision, and Machine Learning. My research interest is to relate this knowledge to the field of Egocentric Vision. More specifically, I am interested in automatic extraction of social signals from egocentric images.

Marc Bolaños

I am a PhD candidate under the supervision of professor Petia Radeva. I am working on the development of Computer Vision and Machine Learning methodologies applied on Egocentric images for the analysis and storytelling of the daily life of the users. Incluing the quality of life improvement of patients with several medical conditions.

Gabriel de Oliveira

I am a PhD candidate under the supervision of Dr. Petia Radeva and Associate Professor at the University of Barcelona. I am interested in Machine Learning and Computer Vision. My particular area of research is Multimedia Retrieval applied to Egocentric Data.

Alejandro Cartas

I am a PhD student under the supervision of Dr. Petia Radeva. I am interested in Machine Learning and Computer Vision. My particular area of research is activity recognition from egocentric images.

Estefanía Talavera

I am a PhD candidate under the supervision of Petia Radeva, from the University of Barcelona, and Nicolai Petkov, from the University of Groningen. My research interests are in lifelogging and health applications.

Eduardo Aguilar

I am a PhD student under the supervision of Dr. Petia Radeva. I am interested in the research and application of Deep Learning algorithms for analysis of food from images. My main goal is to apply this technology to improve the health care of people.
