Degree in Geology (22/07/88), Masters Degree (21/05/91) and Ph.D. by the University of Barcelona (10/07/96) with the thesis “Sequence stratigraphy of delta systems in foreland basins: examples from Sant Llorenç del Munt, Montserrat and Roda (Paleogene, South-pyrenean foreland basin)” (dir. Dr. M. Marzo and Ll. Pomar).

Member of the research group in Geodynamics and basin analysis (from 1997) and the Research Institute Geomodels (UB). The main research lines include Sequence stratigraphy, Stratigraphic and sedimentological analysis of ancient deltaic (and fan-delta) systems, Basin analysis, Chrono- and Cyclostratigraphy, Reservoir analogue characterization, and Tectonics-sedimentation relations among others. This research has been mostly developed on Palaeogene sediments from the Ebro and the South-pyrenean foreland basins (NE Spain). However, some research has been also developed on the tertiary of the Duero basin (N Spain), cretaceous of the Book cliffs (Utah, USA) and San Jorge basin (Argentina), Neogene strata of Vallès-Penedès basin and Quaternary of the Besòs delta (NE Spain)
