Venue
EACA 2014 will take place at Institut d'Estudis Catalans, which is located in the city center (map), very close to the well-known "La Rambla". The exact address is "Carrer del Carme, 47". The closest Metro station is "Liceu" (L3, green line) (map). Participants lodged in Residència d'Investigadors are walking distance to the venue (map). Please check with Google Maps or Barcelona Public Transport website which is your best option.
Previous activity
A 2 hour free visit to the Sagrada Familia Church for EACA 2014 participants is planned on Tuesday June 17th at 4.00 pm. The number of places is limited so the list of participants will be sorted on a first come first serve basis. Those interested in taking this tour, send an e-mail to no later than May 31st.
Group picture
The picture will be taken on Thursday 19th at 10.30, after the first plenary talk.
Social dinner
Social dinner (30 Euros) will be at Ca la Nuri, a restaurant in front of the beach in "Barceloneta". The address is "Passeig Marítim de la Barceloneta (Somorrostro Beach)" and the closest Metro station is "Ciutadella - Vila Olímpica" (L4, yellow line). Buses with close stops are 36, 45, 59, 71, 92, D20 and V21. Please check with Google Maps or Barcelona Public Transport website which is your best option. Recall that the restaurant is downstairs next to the sand.
Friday Excursion
On Friday afternoon there will be a guided walking tour (in English) through architectural modernism in Barcelona. We will gather at 5 pm in front of the old facade of Sagrada Familia (on Marina street). The tour will take around 3 hours and will end at Plaça Catalunya. It is a free tour, but we need you to register so we can tell our guide how many of us are going. Contact the registration table if you plan to go.
