Next Monday, January 28, 2019, will take place the Doctoral Defence of the PhD Student in Economics, Athina Raftopoulou entitled “Essays on the Economics of Obesity” and directed by Dr. Joan Gil Trasfi.
The research developed by the student aims to analyse the economic and social factors that influence the risk of individuals of suffering from obesity in order to guide the design of public policies aimed at fighting it.
Part of this research has been financed thanks to the donations of 49 donors of the project that was financed in Verkami last March and in which 6,375 € were raised.
The Defence of the Thesis will take place on January 28th at 17.30h in the Sala de Graus of the Faculty of Economics and Business. The defence will be given in English and is open to the public.
