Procedures - Overview

Procedure to enrol for a doctoral programme

1. Check that you meet the access requirements, depending on whether you have a Spanish or foreign degree.

2. Look at the doctoral programmes that the UB offers to see which one suits your characteristics and interests, as well as to check the admission requirements and criteria of each programme.

3. Visit your doctoral programme website to check the periods, because some programmes demand a pre-enrolment.

4. Make the application for admission and the application for access (one single document) directly at the faculty of your programme’s coordinator. You will have to provide the documentation requested. There are two periods to present your documentation (June and January), check the dates on the academic calendar . You will be contacted if more documentation is required or if the documentation is not valid.

4.1. If you have a Spanish degree: you will have to make an application for access and admission directly at the faculty with the required academic documentation. You can check it here

4.2. If you have a foreign degree: you will have to make an application for access and admission directly at the faculty with the required academic documentation (you can check it here) and pay the associated fee.

5. Once your documentation is studied, you will receive two notifications:

5.1. The programme’s Academic Commission will notify you the admission to the programme, the assignation to a line of research, a director, a tutor and an enrolment centre where you will have to enrol.

5.2. The Dean of your coordinator’s faculty will resolve your access.

6. 6 Check the calendar to formalise your enrolment.
