General objective of the Master in Advanced Immunology
To generate an offer of knowledge of
immunology sufficient to complete the professional exits offered by the
field of immunology. The knowledge of this matter is required for
diagnosis and treatment of many diseases that affect a large percentage
of the population, both in terms of man and animals. These processes
include infectious diseases caused by bacteria, viruses (AIDS) and
parasites, autoimmune diseases, inflammatory processes (rheumatoid
arthritis), allergies, transplants, cancer, etc., which require a great
therapeutic arsenal including gene therapy. In addition, from the point
of view of public health prevention, vaccines have been the most
effective therapeutic weapon in the history of mankind and their
development is directly related to the knowledge of immunology. The
objective of this Postgraduate is to create the theoretical and
practical bases that lead to the training of professionals within the
scope of both human and veterinary health, as well as professionals
directed to the pharmaceutical - biotechnology company.
The potential of the knowledge that surrounds the Master in Advanced
Immunology opens a wide range of possibilities in different fields of
study: activities related to the knowledge of the immune system, its
cellular and molecular components, functional processes and cellular and
molecular interactions within anatomical structures and general

The Master in Advanced Immunology also aims
to be a benchmark of quality by bringing together the majority of
teachers in the metropolitan area of Barcelona, and at the same time
generate a synergy action among all the teaching centers around
immunology in universities, hospitals and research institutes of maximum
prestige (IDIBAPS, IDIBELL, CRESA, IRB, CRG, IRSICaixa, etc.). This
