SoRuraLL workshop
The first SoRuraLL workshop for Spain took place at the University of Barcelona on May 11th, 2009. It was attended by four teachers representing four different rural schools and three researchers from the University of Barcelona. The workshop was organised in two sessions: during the morning session presentation has been made to present the SoRuraLL consortium, the project objectives, etc. Furthermore, selected tools for social networking have been presented by the researchers. In the afternoon, a focus group session took place, in order to gather in depth information about users’ needs, and to stimulate active discussion on the concrete subjects posed by the project.

"An International Workshop: Gender-Sensitivity and Pluralism in Mathematics Education" - Barcelona, January 25-26, 2007
PREMA workshop gathered more than 70 participants from 15 European States, who presented state of the art research findings, policy making case studies and educational programs, all related to the promotion of gender-sensitive maths and science education. The objectives of the workshop were put in terms of the following key questions:
* In what ways can mathematics education in Europe become gender-sensitive?
* Could gender-sensitivity contribute to pluralism in mathematics education?

"ICT in Initial Education: Research and the perspectives of the users" - Barcelona, November 20, 2006
Users' Group seminar aimed at enhancing dialogue and mutual understanding between the world of research (represented by KALEIDOSCOPE members) and the world of users and decision-makers, based on the issues of research and implementation of ICT-based innovations in initial education. This dialogue needs the voices of teachers, students and administrators.

"Technology enhanced public spaces for intergenerational learning" - Barcelona, June 26, 2006
The University of Barcelona and CosmoCaixa hosted the first co-design workshop of the project La PIAZZA. The workshop aimed at eliciting participants' views on intergenerational learning in order to inspire the generation of new perspectives in terms of artefacts, spaces, activities, people and roles. The joint endeavour seeks to envision new ways for ecologically integrating technologies and spaces for nourishing and supporting intergenerational learning activities.
Massive Seminar
"Integrating eLearning in Higher Education: peer review methodology" - Barcelona, November 7-8, 2005
The MASSIVE consortium was happy to share the methodology developed in the frame of the project to design a peer review model focusing on the six service areas that are considered critical for traditional universities to successfully implement eLearning services. MASSIVE explored an original peer review model among the participating universities to compare and improve their approaches.
Delphi Seminar
Breaking barriers in education and training - How can we make e-learning in eduction and training transferable, scalable and sustainable? - University of Manchester & UMIST, June 7, 2004
The DELPHI Project supported by the EU e-Learning Action Plan has been analysing the results of a range of EU funded projects concerned with innovative learning technologies, to determine whether fundamental changes have arisen at the level of methodology, learning and organisational processes. The workshop gathered together researchers from different Member States who coordinated or were involved in projects funded under the MINERVA, IST and Improving Socio-economic Research programmes. The Workshop addressed the need to valorise research done in this area, elaborate policy briefs suggesting new directions for research and make recommendations for future policy directions. Transferability, sustainability and scalability were the key axes of the discussion on pedagogical, institutional and socio-economic innovations of e-learning projects.
Merlin seminar
Learning innovations with ICT - Barcelona, May 30-31, 2002
Together with 30 experts, the Cluster "Learning Innovations with ICT" gathered a group of researchers from different EU countries that had coordinated or had been involved in projects funded by the Programme Targeted Socio-Economic Research (section Education and Training) and projects with strong socio-economic components from the Joint Multimedia Call. By assembling this group of experts, the Workshop addressed the need to valorise the research done in this area, and as a result of this process, elaborated policy briefs suggesting new needs for research and recommendations for policy developments within the Key Action "Improving the Socio-economic Knowledge Base" and for the V Framework Programme.

Implementation of Virtual Environments in Training and Education - Barcelona, November 16-18, 2000
With the aim of gathering a group of European specialists to share their opinions with those of IVETTE participants, the University of Barcelona organised this Workshop aiming at analysing the transformations that traditional Higher Education institutions need to undertake in order to adapt themselves to lifelong learning schemes. These changes need a holistic view and should take into consideration the areas IVETTE is proposing for further discussion. The Workshop also provided policy recommendations to the European Commission.
