Mario Barajas Frutos
He is a Doctor in Education from the University of Barcelona and Master’s Degree in Educational Technology from San Francisco State University in the USA. He is Professor of Educational Multimedia in the Department of Didactics at the University of Barcelona. He holds degrees in Engineering and in Philosophy, and previously worked as teacher of Mathematics in secondary education. Co-director of the post-graduate course ‘Knowledge, Science an citizenship in the Information Society’, he teaches in the doctoral programme ‘Diversity a Change in education: policies and practices’. He coordinates Future Learning.
Anna Trifonova
Anna has a PhD in Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) from the University of Trento (Italy) focusing on wireless and mobile technologies in education with application on language learning. She is experienced in ICT from both technical and methodological side. Her interests include technology-facilitated learning, creativity and innovation facilitated by ICT, networking tools for support of virtual communities, etc. She has participated in several EU projects and national-level projects in Italy and Norway. Within Future Learning, she is involved in Pathway, ProActive and SCeTGo.
Frédérique Frossard
She is a PhD student in the “Education and Society” program (University of Barcelona). She holds a postgraduate certificate in "Multimedia and education" (University of Barcelona). She graduated in social Psychology (University of Besançon, France) and obtained, in 2004, a Post-Graduate Master in "Work Psychology, ICT and Ergonomics" (University of Metz-Nancy, France), specialized in professional training. She is now involved in several EU projects, such as RURALeNTER and PROACTIVE (Fostering Teachers' Creativity through Game-Based Learning).
Silvia Alcaraz Domínguez
She holds a MSc in Cognitive Systems and Interactive Media from Pompeu Fabra University (Spain), with a focus on analysis and scripting for Virtual Learning Environments in informal contexts of learning. She has a BSc in Audiovisual Communication from the same university, with a specialzation in interactive media. She has presented her academic work at the ACM conferences Interaction Design and Children (Barcelona, 2010) and Interactive Tabletops and Surfaces (Germany, 2010). She is interested in technology-enhanced learning in both formal and informal learning settings, particularly in Languages and Media. As a member of Future Learning, she is participating in the EU projects ProActive and SCeTGo.
Gloria Gannaway
She holds a doctorate in Rhetoric and Literature (University of Texas, Austin, US). She has more than thirty years of experience teaching, researching, and writing in the fields of academic, professional, technical, and creative writing; culture and cyberculture studies; and, American literature at several universities in the US, including The University of California (Berkeley) and The University of Texas (Austin), and in Turkey and Spain. She has given numerous national and international conference papers and has numerous publications, most notably her book that critiques American culture and education, Transforming Mind: A Critical Cognitive Activity . Currently, she collaborates with Mario Barajas on education research projects at the University of Barcelona, and works as a free-lance consultant on professional English language projects.
Andrea Rossi
She is a PhD student in the “Education and Society” program (University of Barcelona). In 2002 she graduated in Sociology (Pontificia Universidad Católica of Chile) and had implementation and management experience in the field of strategic communications, education and gender, specifically in thedesign, application
and analysis of qualitative and quantitative methodologies. Her current research profile keeps special interest in the field of the teaching and learning process, ICT and gender scope. She is now involved in the SESTEM project (Supporting Equality in Science Technology and Mathematics related choices of careers).
Carmina Angélica Sánchez Pérez
She is currently PhD Candidate in "Diversity and Change in education: policies and practices" at the department of Didactics and Educative Organization (University of Barcelona). She graduated in social Anthropology (National school of Anthropology and History, Mexico) and as professor of primary education (National school of teachers, Mexico). In 2004 she obtained a post-graduate Master in Sciences specialized in Educational Research (Polytechnic National Institute, Mexico). She has experience in development of educational projects, teachers’ training, and as a primary school teacher. She participated in the project “Modelos de enseñanza y aprendizaje presentes en los usos de plataformas e-learning en universidades españolas y propuestas de desarrollo”, and was involved in the Rural Wings project.

Karina Olmedo
She holds a postgraduate certificate in “New Technologies applied in Education” (University of Barcelona) and is a PhD student in “Teaching and Learning in Digital Environments (EAED)” program (University of Barcelona). She graduated in Educational Science (Metropolitan University, Venezuela) in 2005. She has experience in different teaching programs and has been researching in the areas of ICT and Education, e-learning and professional and technological skills of university teachers. Currently within Future Learning group she is involved in European Projects, such as FARE (Facilitating Reflections on Equity in LLL Strategies) and SESTEM (Supporting Equality in Science Technology and Mathematics).
Laurence Wilvers
Laurence has a master in cinematographic writing and analysis and an aggregation from the University of Brussels. She is experienced as an audiovisual reporter and was trained by the university of Valenciennes (France). She has been working in New Delhi as a reporter for a French company. She has been conducted a Leonardo da Vinci training program at the University of Barcelona within the Future Learning team, collaborating in different EU projects such as PROATIVE and SESTEM.
Isabel Chácon
She is currently PhD candidate in “Digital technoscience emergence: the conjunction of Physics and Computers” at the Department of Logic, History and Science Philosophy (Barcelona University).
She holds a degree in Philosophy from Barcelona University and a postgraduate certificate in “Technoscientific control culture in digital information society” from Barcelona University, specialising in Science, Technology and Society (STS).
Coordinator and teacher of the post-graduate course ‘Knowledge, Science and citizenship in the Information Society’, she teaches also courses in a graduate degree level as “Information and knowledge society in modern cultures” and “Impacts and challenges of science and technology in society, culture and politics”. Member of FutureLearning research initiative from Barcelona University and of the Center for Research in e-Society (CERe-S), Barcelona Science Park.
