Every six years, the quality of new offerings in EHEA bachelor’s and university master’s degree courses needs to be officially approved and, to this end, the University of Barcelona has launched its Internal Quality Assurance System (IQAS).

  • This system stipulates that each UB faculty or school must form a quality assurance committee and that this committee should take charge of implementing and supervising a series of actions related to the improvement of the faculty’s education programs. The present IQAS model is managed by the UB’s Agency for Policy and Quality and follows the criteria of the AUDIT program, a joint initiative of Spanish member agencies of the European Network for Quality Assurance in Higher Education (ENQUA) which aims to design a quality assurance system based on the introduction and standardization of a series of quality-oriented procedures and quality assessment mechanisms. The Faculty Board at the Faculty of Chemistry approved a document outlining its mission in terms of policies and objectives on 25 February 2010 (see the document Quality policy and objectives at the Faculty of Pharmacy [in Catalan]).
