Professor Joan Bosch                                                           

    Prof. Bosch completed his Ph. D. degree in 1973 at the University of Barcelona. He has been Professor of Organic Chemistry since 1982 at the Faculty of Pharmacy of the University of Barcelona. During the period 1983-1986, he was Vice-Dean of this Faculty and then Dean during 1986-1992. He has also been Director of the Department, “Pharmacology and Therapeutical Chemistry”, during the period 1992-1998. He has published 247 scientific papers in the most reputed journals in the field of Organic Chemistry. He is also one of the inventors of 80 patents as a consequence of his research in collaboration with pharmaceutical companies. He has supervised 36 Ph. D. Theses, and in 2002 he was awarded the “Distinction for the Promotion of University Research” by the Autonomous Government of Catalunya. His field of expertise is Organic Synthesis, in particular of natural products.
