| Prof. Amat studied Pharmacy at the University of Barcelona and completed her Ph. D. under the supervision of Prof. Bosch in 1984. In 1985 she moved, as Fulbright Scholar, to the University of Virginia where she carried out postdoctoral studies in the laboratory of Prof. Richard J. Sundberg working in the total synthesis of natural products. In 1997 she returned to the University of Barcelona where she is currently professor of Organic Chemistry at the Faculty of Pharmacy. She is co-author of about 70 scientific papers and has been the advisor of 9 Ph. D. Thesis. From January 2005 she is Head of the Department of “Pharmacology and Therapeutical Chemistry”. Her current research interests concern the development of new synthetic methods for the enantioselective synthesis of bioactive compounds and natural products. |
