A brief note of history
The research group of Physiology and Experimental Nutrition started its activity in 1976 under the name of Intestinal Transport Group, and since 1999 has been approved as "Consolidated group" by the Generalitat de Catalunya (SGR2009-00471). Internally, the group is organized in two independent groups, namely the Nutritional Physiology and Pathophysiology group, leaded by Prof. Joana M. Planas, and the Digestive Physiology and Intestinal Adaptations group directed by Prof. Miquel Moretó. Both are integrated in the Nutrition and Food Safety Research Institute of the University of Barcelona .
