The Department of Physiology of the University of Barcelona have its origin in the disaggregation of the Unit of Physiology when the former Department of Biochemistry and Physiology was suppressed
The Department of Physiology (defined by the knowledge area with the same denomination) groups to the teachers of Physiology and Immunology in the Experimental and Mathematics Sciences Division. Our main goals are the teaching and research works on the functional mechanisms of the animals and its integration, and also the understanding of the defense responses of the organism against exogen or endogeb stimuli.
The Department of Physiology has teaching tasks at the Faculty of Biology (Graduates on Biology, Biochemistry and Environmental Sciences). In addition, we have the following objectives:
Courses from the doctorate (Ph D) programs on Physiology and Immunology.
Organization of Master Courses. Currently: Máster en Immunologia
and Master en Monitorización de Ensayos Clínicos.
Participation in the management of the INEFC-UB
Hypobaria Service.
We also offer assesment and help to other Departments of the University
of Barcelona. Throughout Fundació Bosch i Gimpera, that service could
be extensible to other institutions and companies.
