High-resolution terrain modelling - LIDAR

(contact address  David García)

High-resolution terrain modelling requires of remote sensing techniques, both Lidar technique to terrestrial photogrammetric, aerial or satellites image are used on the Institut de Recerca Geomodels. Infrastructure available at the Institut:

LIDAR

In September 2005 the Institut acquired a Lidar equipment constituted by:

  1. Terrestrial Laser Scanner model ILRIS-3D Optech Inc.

  2. Differential GPS, receiver model GB-1000 and antenna PG-A1 W/GP TOPCON company, for the georeferencing data acquired by laser scanner.

  3. Digital camera CANON 40D (12M Pixels). With calibrated lens for creating photo-realistic models from laser scanner data.

  4. Team batteries and electric generator as energy source of the equipment

Associated software

  1. Data acquired are processated by commercial software PolyWorks (Innovmetric Software Inc.).

  2. Software developed at the Geomodels Institut to support methodologies and workflows

PHOTOGRAMMETRY and SATELITE IMAGES

Equipment of two digital cameras with calibrated lenses applicable to close-range photogrammetry.

  1. Digital camera CANON 40D (12M Pixels). Calibrated lenses.

  2. Digital camera Minolta dimage7 (5M Pixels). Calibrated lenses.

Associated software

  1. Erdas Imagine. Modulo Orthobase. Commercial photogrammetry software to close-range photogrammetry, aerial and satellite and orthoimages creation

  2. AgisoftPhotoScan Professional Edition. Multiview photogrammetry software.
