(Seventh European Summer School in
Logic, Language and Information)
13-25 August 1995.

1995 edition of the European Summer School in Logic, Language and Information was held at the Faculty of Biology of the Universidad de Barcelona.

The School was organized under the auspices of the European Association for Logic, Language and Information (FoLLI) jointly by the following Spanish universities:

Universitat de Barcelona,
Universitat Rovira i Virgili,
Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya and
Universitat Autónoma de Barcelona.

The Local Organizing Committee members were:

The summer school program included courses, workshops and symposia covering a variety of topics within six areas of interest: Logic, Language, Computation, Logic and Computation, Computation and Language and Language and Logic.

Thus, 12 Introductory courses were designed to familiarize students with new fields and 23 advance courses were held to allow participants to acquire more specialized expertise in areas they were supposed to be already familiar with. Chaired by an expert in the field, 9 workshops gave Ph.D. students the opportunity to present their work and receive informed feedback. Finally, 9 symposia were held to encourage collaboration and cross fertilization of ideas by discussing issues which are at the forefront of current research in the field.

The School counted with the participation of two hundred and seventy students and seventy lecturers. Most of the lecturers were prestigious professors of well known universities, mainly European although also professors coming from the States, and Japan accepted to participate at the School.

The Summer School counted with the support of public and private institutions. Contributors to this edition were:
